Wallick Breaks Ground on Senior Housing Community

Officials have broken ground on a $17 million affordable housing community for seniors in Marion, Ohio.

The 50-unit Harding Heights Apartments is the latest project from Wallick, a developer and owner of affordable, workforce, and senior living properties.

“We are thrilled to be expanding our presence in Marion with Harding Heights Apartments. It will be our third community here,” said CEO Amy Albery. “This new project continues our mission of opening doors to homes, opportunities, and hope.”

The development will feature 25 one- and 25 two-bedroom units. The three-story, 63,000-square-foot building will also include a large community room with a kitchenette, a computer room/library, and an outdoor patio.

Harding Heights is Wallick’s first community with Ohio low-income housing tax credits. The financing also includes federal housing credits.

Project partners include Ohio Housing Financing Agency, Merchants Capital Corp., Merchants Bank of Indiana, Cedar Rapids Bank and Trust Co., Argent Institutional Trust Co., Marion Township, and Resident Resources Network.

Wallick is constructing the development and, when complete, will own and manage it.

The design team includes RDL Architects, Civil & Environmental Consultants, and Sol Design + Consulting.
