Fourteen developments have been awarded reservations of federal and state housing tax credits by the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA).
The 2026 round-one projects will create or preserve 634 affordable homes in Aurora, Cañon City, Clifton, Colorado Springs, Denver, Divide, Fort Lupton, Lafayette, Manitou Springs, Montrose, and Towaoc.
CHFA estimates the housing credits will raise more than $219 million in private-sector equity.
The funded developments include the 15-unit Ute Mountain Homes I in Towaoc by the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe. This is the first development awarded housing credits to be built on tribal land and be tribally led in Colorado.
In Lafayette, the Boulder County Housing Authority will develop Willoughby Corner Phase 2, a 32-unit community serving residents with a disability, including those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
This development was among five projects to also receive Transit-Oriented Communities credits, a state credit supporting affordable rental housing development near transit.
