Wells Fargo Housing Affordability Breakthrough Challenge Offers $2M Grants

Wells Fargo has launched its 2026 Housing Affordability Breakthrough Challenge—the third cycle of a national initiative focused on identifying scalable, high-potential solutions to expand housing affordability.

Five organizations will receive $2 million each in grants, and winners will receive technical assistance, industry mentorship, and national peer learning support. The program is open to organizations with demonstrated early results and a plan to grow their innovation.

Applications are due May 15. The categories include design and construction, finance, and service and delivery programs.

The challenge is managed by Enterprise Community Partners.

Since 2019, Wells Fargo and the Wells Fargo Foundation have invested more than $53 million in the challenge and $830 million nationwide to expand housing affordability.
